Many travel destinations in Thailand are highly suitable if you are planning to have a quality vacation trip on an exotic land. Several wonderful Thai islands would definitely fit your getaway requirements as well as popular tourist attractions to satisfy your adventurous spirit. The northern part of Thailand is an excellent spot for nature trekking with its magnificent scenes of mountains and different types of animals and plants inhabiting the region. Travelers who want to have a relaxing sun bathing experience can go to a beach holiday in the shores of Phuket, Hua Hin, Koh Samui or Pattaya. You may find hotel accommodations available in the region specifically placed to cater the needs of the visitors. Thailand is complete with exciting places to visit. You may want to check out some websites on the Internet to determine which of the tourist destinations are fitting to your vacation preferences.

As the capital of the country, Bangkok thrives with famous tourist spots such as the well-preserved Buddhist temples. Almost all visitors traveling to Thailand spend some of their vacation days staying in Bangkok. Even though the air pollution and bad traffic situation in the vicinity could not be very pleasing to its tourists, the place still receives an excellent number of visitors for its spectacular shopping district as well as the famous floating markets.

Phuket is also one of the major places that tourists are aiming to go on a vacation. In fact, this largest island in Thailand has attracted many visitors to spend their summer getaway on its wide variety of beach resorts. The white sand beaches of Phuket have been some of the most sought places to go in order to experience a revitalizing beach experience. Phuket not only has great shores but also has excellent nightlife. Visitors coming to Thailand never fail to notice the liveliness of Phuket bars as wells as the entertainment provided by tourist attractions such as the Phuket Fantasea Show and Simon Cabaret Show.

Aside from Phuket, there are other alternatives for beach resorts in Thailand such as Pattaya and Samui. Pattaya is the closest beach area to central Bangkok, which makes it the most accessible summer place for Bangkok residents and visitors. Even though its beaches are not as excellent as the beaches of Samui and Phuket, visitors visit the location for its active nightlife. For tourists who want to have a great night party experience, the beer bars and other Pattaya nightlife places provide a lively environment for partygoers to try out. Moreover, Samui is another great place to find excellent beach areas. You may even want to try participating on several beach activities such as water sports and boat rides. The most popular beaches to discover in this region include Lamai Beach, Big Buddha Beach and Chaweng Beach.

Aside from the popular beaches of Thailand, you may also want to have an adventurous hike on the mountains of Chiang Mai. You may want to explore the culture of Thai tribes as well as participating in exciting events such as rafting and elephant riding. If you want to have a great time on your visit to Chiang Mai, make sure you schedule your travel with the Song Kran or Thailand’s New Year celebration.

We ate beetlenut, rode an overnight train, cruised around the infamous khao san road, saw the reclining buddah, ate street food, drove in tuk-tuks, swam in waterfalls, got leeches and ate goat intestine curry!
Help answer the question about thailand travel
How can I get more people to travel to Thailand?
My Thai wife and I run a small travel business (TBF Travel) that offers custom and guided luxury adventure travel trips to Thailand. We have a great website and advertise but need more travelers. Our trips are for active people that want to spend a little more and stay in 4 and 5 star resorts. Any ideas to generate more business?

1. Koh Chang – Don’t stop at only Koh Chang because Koh Mak, Koh Kood and Islands surrounding Koh Chang also have more beautiful beaches and water.

2. Chiang Mai – Try to find hotels outside of the city such as on Hangdong – Samoeng and Samoeng – Sankamphaeng routes because there are better views and hotels along the mentioned route are less expensive than the hotel in the city with the same standard. The true nature of northern Thailand can also be experienced.

3. Phuket – Don’t pay too much attention to sea-view rooms because the limitation in space. The sea could not be seen directly from rooms in most hotels. The tourist should pay more attention to the standard of the hotel and the distance from the beach.

4. Koh Samui – If you have limited fund, the best way to travel to Koh Samui is by speed boat from Lomprayah Catamaran Company. Lomprayah offers less expensive service than taxi for hire and service provided by the hotel directly. Nevertheless, if you have no problem with fund, you should hire a taxi because this would create job for the locals.

5. Andaman Sea – Trang Sea is as beautiful and interesting as nearby provinces such as Krabi. The prominent tourist spots in Andaman Sea are Koh Libong, Koh Hai, etc.

6. Krabi – Although Railay beach in on the mainland, you still have to travel by boat from Ao Nang beach because it is surrounded by mountain and cannot get to by land transportation.

7. Pattaya – North Pattaya beach and Central Pattaya beach have many facilities but the true nature can be found at Koh Lan, which is 7.5 kilometer from Pattaya. You can get there in 45 minutes by regular boat and 15 minutes by speedboat.

8. Hua Hin – Hua Hin is a popular beach that is close to Bangkok but that does not mean that it is the most beautiful. Not far from Hua Hin, Pranburi beach is much quieter and more suitable for relaxation but the transportation may not be as convenience as at Hua Hin.

9. Koh Samet – You should contact travel agency or the hotel in order to find out which pier to get on the boat. Some hotels provide their own service. Don’t trust strangers because you might end up higher price.

10. Bangkok – Jatujak market has products from all over the country e.g. cloths, decoration, house hold items, souvenir, food, pet, etc.

There are numerous community sites and varoius portals aimed at or related to Thailand. Many have similar functions and attract a huge number of people, however as a resident of Thailand and someone who has used these community sites / portals in the past I am always disappointed at how rapidly they lose the original focus and all too often fall prey to the lure of advertising money or to abuse by members looking for sex.

Even Facebook, now world famous of course, has so many widgets and gizmos that it has recently released another app called “Great Apps”, which actually filters out all the ‘crap’ that is currently in Facebook and identifies useful applications for businesses!

These sites, there are many examples aimed at or related to Thailand, become either a annoying display of flashing, immensley irritating advertisements, their owners cashing in on the lure of advertising money (just look at sanook.com and panthip.com); or alternatively and perhaps more disappointingly degenerate into notorious sex sites used by the singles of the region to find dates for those lonely mid week nights or as a convenient platform used by legions of cyber sex addicts often from other countries looking for that piece of Asian erotica in the form of a live peep show via a webcam.

I am not preaching that there is anything ‘wrong’ in this – each to their own – I think the owners of these portals however should beware of excessive advertising and segregate this material / these groups accordingly so regular users can find people and information they are looking for, not get hassled by perverts or desparados and share information without fear of reprisals.

Indeed, I went on one such portal yesterday and was messaged within 5 minutes by a ‘girl’ who turned out to be a guy from Pakistan who hassled me for 10 more minutes to get naked on my web cam! Not what I wanted, in the end I killed the window and will not return.

Thailand Web Zone was started to try and create a ‘clean’ platform for people looking to visit Thailand to make friends / contacts / even business partners in the country, provide valuable information on all manner of topics, written by those in the know: residents and locals. It also allows people to create Thailand related social groups and events, blogs, forums and so on, as well as providing the standard functions such as uploading photos and images.

Finally, we have implemented a few extra features not yet included on other Thailand community sites such as video recording, streaming whiteboards, video chat and music. Powerful group category and privacy management allows each group of people and individuals to do what they want when they want without intruding on the privacy of other people. Couple this with a sensible advertisement policy and we hope this will provide a unique and interesting community platform for people with an interest in Thailand.

Thailand Web Zone, with a load of new cool features:

Chat: create your own chat rooms, video chat, skip from one chat room to another, 1 to 1 private video chat

Boards: let your creative talent flow freely, draw pictures online and share them with your friends

Music: upload your favourite tunes, search through music, download music for your own use.

Video: upload your videos, search and play video directly from the site, use for fun or for business communication.

Video recording: record your own webcam messages and upload them to your profile

Classifieds: add your classified ad, sell, buy, submit and find a job in Thailand.

Articles: find useful and relevant information written by those who know what they are talking about. Submit your own articles, share information, share your knowledge.

Forums: participate in various discussions, submit topics for discussion / debate, ask locals and residents questions before you arrive.

If you’ve hit an age where meeting attractive younger (than you) girls or women seems to be a wicked challenge, maybe it’s time to consider opening your mind to new horizons. Yes I’m talking about Thai girls and Thai women here. And doing it from a guy who has lived in Thailand for the best part of four years.

But before we meet the perfect Thai girl, why Thailand? Maybe it’s the attention. It’s hard not to be taken by people who seem to be always smiling, welcoming and friendly. And with a great ‘not too serious about anything much’ attitude and the Thai Buddhist qualities, well, it’s all quite compelling.

Anyway, Thailand is a world in itself, so be prepared to be amazed and have all your normal ‘logical’ thinking replaced with ongoing illogical and strange behavior. In other words, Thailand is a completely weird place. Just remember that when you travel to a foreign country, after you get there, you become the foreigner…

Amongst all its differences, the pleasures are true and fascinating. There’s no doubt Thailand is a crazy world. But strangely enough, it seems to hang together well. And the proof is in the pudding… having thrown myself into this lifestyle, I now feel somewhat ‘apprehensive’ about having to travel to a Western country and meet Western people. Why would I feel that way?

Maybe because I’ve been immersed in smiling, polite Thai people who always welcomed me and wanted to know about me. Maybe because I’ve been surrounded by Thai food that is always so important everywhere you go. Food that… “shows how we delicately care about feelings of people.” And then there’s the Thai girls…

Let’s talk about Thai girls and the Thai world through these 5 simple steps:

Step one: Go to http://yourthaigirl.com and read the downloadable ebook, (and while you’re there sign up to the Thai Girl, Thai Life newsletter). In this ebook you’ll learn all about Thai culture, lifestyle, and of course, Thai girls.

You get savvy on what to do, what not to do, when to do it, and where to go and do it. You’ll know what it all means, and the ebook will give you the ‘inside picture’ to the world of Thailand.

Step two: Book your ticket to Thailand as soon as you can. When you arrive, prepare for the slam… the heat… an invisible hammer that hits you with its mighty force… rushes to greet you with the power of a thousand simmering angels…

And yet, before you know it, you’ll be slipping down the long passageways inside the cool air conditioned airport. Get your bags, your bearings, your Thai girl book and prepare for your biggest journey. (Hey, Thailand is not as hot as you think

Step three: Get out and meet and greet people. Prepare your name card, your few words of Thai, a nice hotel or resort with a funny name, and your best clothes. In this country, it pays to look good. Thai’s like to be clean, fresh, and attractive. No kidding.

Step four: Just be you. Expect lots of questions. The Thai’s want to learn English… speak English with you. You’ll have a great, precious, remarkable time. Be adventurous. Be a tourist. Learn new things. Travel on the sky train.

Step five: That’s it, all done. Remember though to keep light-hearted. The Thai’s like to have fun, not be ‘too serious’ and will appreciate it if you show respect to the things that are important to them. The key word is enjoyment. Have fun.

Actually, there’s really nothing to it. It’s so easy (once you’re here!) The main thing is to keep your calm, appreciate the beauty of Thai girls, seek out quality relationships, and let me know how it all goes, okay.
